Officers from the SNT are a familiar presence in Barnes, patrolling the area on foot or bicycle, holding street briefings, chatting to local residents or carrying out checks on anti-social activities such as pavement cyclists.

During their routine patrols members of the SNT identify premises where the occupiers have left themselves vulnerable to burglary, for example by leaving windows open whilst the premises are unoccupied or leaving items of value, or car keys, close to windows or doors. Ladders may have been left insecure providing access to upper floors or neighbouring properties.

Also, routinely the team test car door handles to identify cars that owners have left insecure.
